O gangue de Jackal Lam e o comissário da polícia roubam um carregamento de ouro ilegal pertencente a Tiger Wong. Para recuperar o ouro e vingar-se, Tiger contrata o justiceiro Frank Chan, que rapidamente descobre que Jackal Lam poderá liderar uma rede clandestina de tráfico de armas – a violência está prestes a começar. Em Portugal, o filme estreou com o som original em mandarim, mas com legendas completamente diferentes, repletas de referências à atualidade social e política portuguesa. Os nomes das personagens foram substituídos por trocadilhos inspirados na gíria nacional, como Chan-Frado, Shin-Fli-Tico, Chun-Goso,Sha-De-Ti-Lia e Sho-Riço. O resultado foi uma sátira hilariante, promovida como “Kung-Fu à Portuguesa”, com o célebre slogan: “1001 maneiras de molhar a sopa”.
Jackal Lam’s gang and the police commissioner steal a shipment of illegal gold belonging to Tiger Wong. To recover the gold and get his revenge, Tiger hires the vigilante Frank Chan, who quickly discovers that Jackal Lam may be leading an underground arms-trafficking ring—violence is about to erupt. In Portugal, the film premiered with the original Mandarin audio but with completely different subtitles, full of references to current Portuguese social and political issues. The characters’ names were replaced with puns inspired by local slang. The result was a hilarious satire, promoted as “Kung Fu à Portuguesa,” with the famous slogan: “1001 ways of kicking ass.
